Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Entrepreneurship

Having worked for a startup in Zurich and Berlin paved how I feel about innovation and about the dynamism of a team. Berlin was extremely enriching; the scene of entrepreneurship and technology combined with the frankness of the people I met, made a big impression on me. It is vital to be surrounded with people of different cultures, from different background, with different goals. The more diverse the thinking process is, the more elaborate your reasoning and decisions will be. Your team is the most valuable thing in a startup, and there are no two alike.
It all comes down to a sentence, one of our team members wrote: "As for the Weissbier, it tastes a lot better if you share it over a story with an older Catalan, a punctual Canadian, a Luxembourg tech junkie, a Swiss DJ, an English pianist, an Austrian vegan, an American tattoo enthusiast or a French singer".

Leave this world a little better than you found it.

Scouting

Scouting is about personal development, receiving a toolkit for finding your path through life. As a leader we hand over responsibility to our scouts in an early stage so that they learn how to act in a group, how to deal with difficult situations, how to take the lead if a leader is needed. The values of scouting are defined as integrety, respect, care, belief and cooperation. Learning how to respect yourself and others is a vitual value. We are all living on the same world, on the same soil and we have to take care of it, we have to take care of each others.

When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.

Aviation

It is hard to find words to describe the feeling of freedom while breaking through a thick layer of clouds, facing the sun and an unreal shining blue sky. As a pilot you are always planing 2 flights: the flight that you actually want to do, flying from A to B, and a flight filled with emergencies. Situation awareness and acting pro-actively, being ahead of the airplane, are skills that are so vital in aviation. The amount of external and internal factors during a flight is very challenging and as a pilot you have to learn how to quickly assess arising situations and coordinate your actions. It is the mix of technical knowledge, psychological influences and work management that makes this field so impressive for me.
